  • The Explorers enjoyed making hats during our Christmas Craft morning and then proudly wore them to their Christmas lunch!
  • The Explorers LOVED having their parents in school today for our Christmas craft morning!
  • The Explorers were brilliant Tryatops during yesterday's Inter House competition! They had great fun taking part in activities including a mini obstacle course, crazy throw and super sprint!
  • The Explorers loved our visit from Courtney Tulloch today. They were amazed by his tricks and were inspired to try their best when it was their turn to perform with him!
  • This week we have been thinking about nocturnal animals and those that hibernate in the winter.
  • This week we celebrated Diwali!
  • For Anti-Bullying week the Explorers came to school in odd socks to celebrate differences and being unique!
  • The Explorers learnt how to stay safe around fireworks this week!
  • The Explorers have enjoyed taking part in a variety of Halloween activities this week!
  • Today the Explorers were busy weeding and digging and then planting daffodil bulbs which were kindly given to the school by Jacks Patch to celebrate their 60th anniversary!
  • We made the most of the sunshine this morning to practice our ball skills in PE!
  • The Explorers continued to have great fun at forest school this week.
  • WELL DONE to the Explorers for a fantastic effort in today's BOUNCE OFF!
  • Our Reception and Year 1 children had their first Forest School session today.

  • A real highlight of our last week of the Summer term is our Pirate Day. The Explorers enjoyed a host of pirate activities throughout the day including a treasure hunt and dance challenge!
  • The Explorers had great fun during their Forest school session today!
  • The Explorers were amazing Tryatops during our recent Sports day. They all thoroughly deserved their Sports day certificates and they will now be able to tick off number 33 on the '100 things to do before you leave Bishop' poster!
  • This week's text 'The Train Ride' inspired lots of creative activities and writing this week!
  • The children were so curious during our minibeast hunt and were super at ‘noticing’ living things! We talked about insects having six legs and used the word ‘habitat’ to identify different homes.
  • Our visit from Shaldon Zoo today was a great way to start the week and a perfect introduction to our learning about mini beasts!
  • As part of our RE topic about Special Places we visited St John's church to find out why they are special places for Christians.
  • The Explorers were amazing at moving their bodies to music in our dance lesson today!
  • The Explorers enjoyed a fun, interactive visit from the dentists this week!
  • As part of our computing learning, the children enjoyed exploring the floor robots.
  • The Explorers have had fun experimenting this week!
  • As part of our learning in Jigsaw, we have been finding out about healthy eating.
  • The Explorers had a great day dressing up as characters from their favourite books and sharing their stories with each other!
  • As part of our Jigsaw unit about 'Healthy Me!' we having been finding out about the importance of exercise.
  • Celebrating Chinese New Year has been a great way to end a fun filled half term!
  • Today we explored keeping safe online.
  • We found a basket of ingredients and a recipe to help us make our own porridge.
  • Following on from our key text, The Three Bears, the children were invited to bring their bears and soft toys to school.
  • This week we came in from p!ay to find that someone had tasted the Three Bears Porridge!

  • As part of our RE learning we have been thinking about how amazing our world is and exploring the Christian belief that God created the world.
  • Help! The penguins are trapped in the ice, how can we get them out?
  • An aptly named game for the chilly weather this week!
  • The children were very excited this week to discover a penguin had arrived in class and had lots of ideas about where he had come from and how we could help him!
  • The Explorers got creative this morning making festive hats to wear for their Christmas dinner. A highlight was spending time with their buddies and exchanging handmade cards!
  • The Explorers enjoyed getting creative for Christmas with their families!
  • As a hook into our new literacy text, the children were amazed to discover a sleepy bear in our role play!
  • Diwali is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of light over darkness.
  • To kickstart ‘Anti Bullying’ week we came to school wearing odd socks. It was a great opportunity to celebrate what makes each of us special and unique.
  • The Explorers had a super time taking part in their first house competition.
  • In our class we love to celebrate what makes us special and to celebrate our differences!
  • Inspired by the Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama, we created our own pumpkin art and prints.
  • The Explorers were super Stickatops's, learning how to use the peelers and knives with safety and control.
  • During snack time this week we enjoyed 'noticing' and tasting a selection of breads from around the world.
  • This week we have been exploring simple patterns. We learnt that a pattern is a repeated unit.
