Partial solar eclipse10 June 2021 (by admin) |
Today, here in Bishop, we experienced a partial solar eclipse.
Lots of our children today did some great learning about the sun, earth and moon and their relationship orbiting around one another. After a good discussion about eye safety, lots of children made a pinhole camera to try and see this for themselves.
Unfortunately, the clouds had other ideas. However, through a few moments of slightly thinner cloud, the eclipse was visible. Whilst the pinhole cameras were less effective through the cloud, Mr Jeffery managed to snap one lucky picture and share it with the children.
Many were encouraged to go home and find out more about this phenomena. We are hoping this experience will spark their curiosity about space even further.
