Sammy in Y6 has been quite moved by the images he's seen of children and their homes affected by the current conflict in Ukraine. His Mum told us that he kept saying he wanted to do something.
Sammy and his Mum came up with the idea of Sunflower seeds which represent peace in Ukraine and ribbons to show support. They are hoping that people in our community will make a donation for the seeds or the ribbons with all of the money going to UNICEF.
Sammy's Mum told us how he has worked so hard on Monday evening from the time he finished school until going to bed he has been designing, sewing, cutting ribbons and putting them all together.
Sammy will be in the playground later today for any donations that people would like to make. We are amazingly proud of Sammy and all of our children who care so much about others and want to make a difference.
