The whole school attended an assembly today led by the RNLI. The children listened superbly and shared some fantastic thoughts.
The children learnt about the role of the RNLI and also lots of other things about the beach and staying safe. The discussed-
- What the various flags mean that are used by the RNLI
- The impact of offshore and onshore winds
- What cloths to wear on the each and the special clothes worn by the lifeguards
- What do do if you get in trouble on at the seaside and who to look for if you are lost
- What a rip current is and what you can do if you get caught in one
- The impact of the weather and how this changes what the sea will be like
We are so lucky to live by the sea and it was great for the children to be reminded of how to keep safe and who is there to help us.
