KS1 learnt about why pirates flew certain flags on their boats and what they meant before designing and making their own.
The children shared their own information they had collected about flags from their Home Learning before finding out and exploring more flags (pirate and non-pirate). They learnt that the pictures had special meanings that told approaching ships things about the boats and the people onboard. This inspired the children to make their own flags that represent them.
