Year 5 had their first session of amazing Forest School this week.
Pioneers and Inventors demonstrated their excellent knowledge of the plants in our school environment, naming and describing many of specimens around the field. In groups, the children then started work on creating wild habitats to attract pollinators and ensured a clean, safe environment for wildlife by collecting rubbish. As well, the children discussed the importance of sustainability through recycling and reusing materials. The session ended with a communal gathering around the fire pit for hot chocolate and biscuits. What a fantastic opportunity to put our Earth Day studies into action! A huge well done to Year 5 for the thoughtful and caring attitudes they all demonstrated and for being amazing planet protectors!
