Last Thursday, 4th October, year 5 and 6 were lucky enough to be visited by the Bishopsteignton knitting group.
The children were taught how to use both knitting needles and their fingers to finger knit poppies, in honour of the Armistice Centenary, which is on 11th November. The children showed enormous amounts of resilience while working on this new skill. The poppies will be part of a larger display in Fore Street, which volunteers have been working tirelessly on.
Thank you to the members of the knitting group who gave up their time to share their expertise with years 5 and 6.
