We have loved to see the children in their wonderful outfits, celebrating their favourite books and authors for World Book Day.
We started the day with the whole school WBD assembly and then completed a range of activities linked to the book ‘Flooded’.
We acted out some parts of the story and then discussed how character feelings about the water flooding changed over the course of the story. We also tried to summarise this book and its main message in a single sentence.
Here are our favourite examples:

‘’Tiny but Mighty. Something despite being small or tiny in comparison can be very powerful in life ‘’ - Layla
‘’You can overcome any problem if you work together’’- Phoebe
In the afternoon we invited parents and carers in to read our favourite books and share stories with the children.
The children had a fantastic day and as always we hope we have inspired them to have a greater love and appreciation of reading.
