As part of our history topic this term, we have been exploring what life was like in the Victorian era — and what better way to bring our History learning to an end than with a visit to the our seaside town of Teignmouth.
This trip brought history to life in a truly memorable way. It was the perfect opportunity for children to deepen their understanding of the Victorian era, while enjoying the sights, sounds, and stories of a town that played a key role in Britain's seaside tradition. In the museum, they got to dress up, played on Victorian penny machines, explored actual Victorian artefacts and even stepped into a restored bathing machine! The walk around Teignmouth allowed children to learn about key buildings and other features from Victorian times. We were incredibly impressed with the children’s politeness and eagerness to learn and this was even recognised by the museum staff. Well done Voyagers and Discoverers.
